Master Chief is coming to Forza Horizon 6, as Playground Games is celebrating 25 years of Xbox and Halo with a free Master Chief outfit that you can unlock from Thursday, November 12.

It's part of the game's current City Life update, which Playground Games released on November 2 alongside new race routes in Tokyo City, a handful of tiny new cars and, slightly unexpectedly, an IKEA furniture pack for your garage.

How to get the Master Chief outfit in Forza Horizon 6

Playground Games' City Life post says The Master Chief Outfit is unlockable in the Week 2 Photo Challenge of the Festival Playlist, so you'll need to complete that photo challenge once the playlist's second week begins on November 12. The City Life series kicked off on November 5 at 2:30pm UK time, so if week two follows the same pattern, that's when the Chief should be ready for his close-up.

Week two also brings the Halo Shield Recharge Car Horn, which you'll earn by finding 15 Gashapon Machine Collectibles at Daikoku, and everyone is being sent a special Halo livery for the 2025 GR GT Prototype through the Message Center. Pure Xbox reports that the GR GT livery hadn't turned up for it yet when it checked on November 6, though it did find a separate Master Chief livery for the Lamborghini Urus, so keep an eye on your messages.

A Warthog it is not

The rest of City Life is a lot more about small, sensible city cars than big green military vehicles, as the Festival Playlist rewards include the 2016 Honda S660 Alpha, the 1987 Fiat Panda, a returning 1966 Hillman Imp for anyone who wants a bit of British charm in Japan, and the 2025 Citroën Ami, which has a mighty 8 horsepower and is only on offer until November 12.

Playground Games has also cut the number of Festival Playlist PTS you need to unlock new cars, added two permanent Tokyo City routes in the Edo Circuit Road Race and Shuto Charge Street Race, and wiped the PR Stunt leaderboards after fixing glitches that let some players post unrealistic scores.

The IKEA Prop Pack, meanwhile, adds 35 props to Custom Garages, including KALLAX shelves, BILLY bookcases and LACK coffee tables, and we're pleased to report that none of them come with an Allen key.

Forza Horizon 6 is out now on Xbox Series X|S and PC, and it's due on PS5 on January 26, 2027. If you play on PC, it's worth knowing that Xbox's redesigned PC app launches up to 60% faster for Insiders right now.

Well, it's not every day you get to park a Fiat Panda next to the galaxy's greatest soldier.
