Getting set up
Right from the box it's transported in, the SIHOO Doro-C300 is packaged with plenty of care, as each loose piece is individually bubble wrapped.
The chair comes with an easy-to-follow user manual alongside a sheet of all the bolts and screws you'll need to assemble it - both of which are helpfully labelled so you know which screws are which (and where to place them).
While you'll need to be careful when tearing into the sheet for the screws so that you don’t accidentally damage the descriptions, this is an otherwise effective way of simplifying the process for customers, especially for those who may have never put together a chair before.
Along with the screws and chair pieces themselves, you'll also receive a T-handle Allen key, which makes it a lot easier to screw the pieces together as you have a proper handle to keep hold of. As an added piece of attention to care, you'll receive a pair of gloves to protect your skin when assembling the gas pedal.
The user manual comes with descriptions of the assembly steps and pictures, laid out in a format that those who have built something from IKEA before will feel very much at home with. Altogether, the instructions are fairly straightforward to interpret, and the chair shouldn’t take you much longer than 30 minutes to set up, even if it's your first time assembling one.

Function over style
Available in either black or an off-white grey, when fully assembled, the SIHOO Doro-C300 looks very much like how you may imagine an ergonomic chair to look, with quite a chunky backing that is made mostly from plastic and somewhat cheapens the look of the chair.
This mesh backing of the seat is made from woven plastic rather than fabric, however, this improves the springy feel of the chair and does not subtract from the comfort in any way. Whilst it doesn’t look as appealing, this also provides plenty of ventilation from sweat (especially important for long hours of use) and can be wiped down in case of spillages.
The design helps to aid the functionality of the chair, succeeding in providing comfort and eliminating bad posture that many of us gamers suffer from after years of stooping over desks and leaning into screens.
The SIHOO Doro-C300 is waterfall-shaped, meaning you have a flexible backrest that fits into the grooves of your spine. The back of the chair is a triangular frame, the design of which is meant to support you in whichever direction you naturally move during the day.
It also has a fully adjustable headrest that both tilts and moves up and down with a 40-degree rotation. When reviewing and asking others to try out the chair, I did notice that taller people may struggle to get a setting that fully matches the position of their neck. If you're 6ft or over, you may not benefit from the neck rest as much.
Other than that, the chair is multi-functional, with the armrests moving in several different ways, from right to left at 180 degrees, forwards and backwards to accommodate for longer or shorter limbs, and up and down.
Additionally, the chair reclines in two areas: from the base and from the headrest, meaning that reclining is comfortable and feels supportive.

The test of time
I tested out the SIHOO Doro-C300 over the course of a couple of weeks and in that time noticed an improvement in both my posture and back pain. I usually suffer from pain after long hours of working at a desk and frequent breaks to lie down and straighten my spine are often needed. Those breaks have been further and fewer in between and the chair seems to be helping.
As mentioned, the chair prioritises function over style, and while I've had my fair share of racing 'gaming chairs' that, while looking the part, offer little to no back support.
The SIHOO Doro-C300 Ergonomic Chair is a fantastic option if you're looking to maximise your comfort during long working hours or gaming sessions. The chair feels robust, and the 3-directional armrests are great if you change positions frequently or are a fidgeter.
The mesh material, although made of plastic that cheapens the overall design, is breathable, springy and sanitary. As is predictable of any clumsy gamer, I've had a few spillages whilst testing the chair out and had zero staining or difficulty cleaning the chair.
The mesh is lightweight enough that it doesn’t readily heat up in the sun, although you will need to watch out for your armrests if they remain near an open window for too long, they can become a little hot to the touch.
