How to get to Sky Islands in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom lets players explore the Sky Islands - provided they can get to them - so here are some methods for reaching these floating islands.
Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom takes place in the same (albeit an altered version of) world as Breath of the Wild, but features many additions like Sky Islands and Link's new rune abilities that play a crucial role in the game's narrative.
Getting up to these giant rocks in the sky can prove to be quite the head-scratcher, though so here's exactly what you need to do.
Below, we've outlined the different methods you can use throughout your adventures in Hyrule to reach the Sky Islands, from using towers to falling rocks.
Skyview Towers
Much like its predecessor, Zelda Tears of the Kingdom dots the map with towers that players must interact with to fill out the map. However, the difference here is that instead of climbing the towers, the Skyview Towers will launch the player high into the sky, so Link can scan the area.
This function of the Skyview Towers can be used at any time, and make for an excellent route to the Sky Islands. Once you are up among the clouds, you can skydive and use your glider to reach any structures that are close enough.
Falling Rocks
As mentioned, TotK is the kind of game that gives players many possibilities and lets them do what they will. Using the Recall ability on fallen objects is just one of many ways you can reach a Sky Island.
Periodically, you will notice rocks falling from the sky. They are noticeable by the green trails that follow them as they fall. Once they are on the ground, you can use the Recall ability to send them back up to where they came from. Once you do, hop on and ride them up into the sky.
These rocks are not random, either, as they are placed in locations that will get you somewhere useful. As such, if you spot a rock falling from the sky, be sure to use Recall and check out where it came from.
Zonai Vehicles
This method of reaching the Sky Islands in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom becomes more viable later in the game as you gather more resources, but once you do you get a lot of freedom of movement. Zonai vehicles are built by using Ultrahand to craft them. There are many ways to do this, as you can put the parts together however you wish - meaning that the possibilities are nearly limitless.
Many Zonai parts are ideal for traveling through the air, such as the wing or the balloon. Combining these items with fans, fire dispensers or even rockets are an amazing way to get airborne in a way you can control.
You are limited by things like your parts and how much Zonai energy you have stored, but with enough of both, you can travel anywhere.
