Looking to use the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Popla Foothills Skyview Tower to unlock a chunk of the map? Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom takes after the previous game by having players seek out towers to unlock the map. The Popla Foothills Skyview Tower reveals a big part of the south of the game's map. Here is what you need to know to find and activate the Popla Foothills Skyview Tower in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Zelda TOTK Popla Foothills Skyview Tower: Where to find it

The location of the Popla Foothills Skyview Tower on the map

The Popla Foothills Skyview Tower is just south of Hyrule Field. It is just to the northeast of Lake Hylia, directly east of the Hills of Baumer Chasm. To find it easily, head to Hyrule Field and use your scope to look to the southeast, the tower should be visible from just about anywhere.

Once you spot it, stick a pin on it to mark it on your map. As the name suggests, the Popla Foothills Skyview Tower is up in the hills, so be prepared to do some hiking.

rescuing Elmerson beneath the Popla Foothills Skyview Tower

When you reach the Popla Foothills Skyview Tower, you will find it is open but the console isn't working. Nearby, there is a well. Approach it and you will hear someone calling for help. The engineer who is supposed to fix the tower is stuck down there, but thankfully it isn't difficult to get him out.

Go south from the Skyview Tower and drop down from the cliff to the Popla Foothills South Well, where you will find some ruined old houses. At the bottom of the cliff that you just dropped down from, you will find a cave entrance. Head into the Popla Foothills Excavation Site and you will find Elmerson trapped behind a gate.

All you need to do is step onto the large button on the floor to open the gate and free the engineer. He will head straight back to the Skyview Tower to fix it. The quickest and easiest way to return to the tower is to use Ascend from inside the cave. Once you are back up beside the tower, activate it and unlock another chunk of the map.
