XDefiant Season 2 has seen the game grown with a new mode, a new team faction based on Far Cry New Dawn, and some weapons for players to get familiar with. If you need an explainer for Bomb Mode, here's everything you need to know.
Bomb Mode explained
Bomb Mode is the newest game mode for XDefiant, being added during Season 2.
The premise is essentially the same as Counter-Strike's Defuse or Call of Duty's Search & Destroy; there are two teams of six, with one attacking a point with the goal of planting a bomb, and the other defending the point and defusing the bomb if it is planted.
There are no respawns during a round, so if one team kills the entire enemy team, the round will end. However, if the bomb has been planted and the defenders kill the entire enemy team, they'll still need to defuse it to win.
Just one attacker will have the bomb, as it needs to be picked up and planted at a site. It can be dropped on purpose or if they die though, so defenders can find it and defend it rather than a site.
After every round the sides will be swapped, giving you plenty of time to try both sides in quick succession. The first team to win six rounds of Bomb Mode is the winner of the game.
This type of mode is ubiquitous in versus multiplayer gaming at this point, having been popularised by CS initially.
Most players should already have an idea of how to play when going in for the first time, along with the general strategy of defending chokepoints or attacking together depending on your side.
