World of Warcraft PC & macOS system requirements: Minimum and recommended specs

If you want to know whether your PC or Mac is up to playing WoW, this guide will tell you whether you have the minimum or recommended specs for the game.

World of Warcraft has been around on PC and Mac for years, and as such, the minimum recommended system specifications mean that most people can play it.

Here, we will run through the PC and macOS system requirements for World of Warcraft, just so that you can be sure that you’ll be exploring Azeroth in plenty of frames without worrying about frying your PC.

 If you can run it on the recommended system specifications, then you’re probably in for a smoother experience.

If your PC is meeting the minimum recommended system specifications, it may not look fantastic or feel great to play, but it can at the very least run the game.

Minimum Requirements

  • OS: Windows 7 64-bit
  • Processor: 4 cores, 3.0 GHz processor 4th Generation IntelCore Haswell or AMD Ryzen Zen
  • Memory: 8GB RAM
  • Graphics: 3GB GPU Nvidia GTX 900, AMD GCN 4th Gen, Intel Iris XeGraphics
  • DirectX: Direct X12
  • Storage: 128GB SSD Available Space
  • Internet: Broadband Internet connection

If you can run WoW on the recommended system specifications, then you’re probably in for a smoother experience. You'll be completing dungeons and raids at the highest levels in no time.

Recommended Requirements

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
  • Processor: 6 cores, 5.4 GHz processor 8th Generation Intel Core or AMD Ryzen Zen 2
  • Memory: 16GB RAM
  • Graphics: 8GB GPU Nvidia RTX, AMD RDNA 2 or Intel Arc 7 Graphics
  • Storage: 128GB SSD
  • Internet: Broadband Internet Connection

WoW Mac minimum and recommended specs

Not everyone plays games on a Windows gaming PC, and instead opt to play on their Apple Mac work machines. There's nothing wrong with that, but you will have to consider slightly different system requirements.

Here are the system requirements you'll need to run World of Warcraft on macOS:

Minimum Requirements

  • OS: macOS 10.15
  • Processor: 4 cores, 2.9 GHz processor 6th Generation IntelCore Skylake or Apple M1
  • Memory: 8GB RAM
  • Graphics: Metal capable 3GB GPU or AMD GCN 4th Gen or  Apple M1
  • Storage: 128GB SSD Available Space
  • Internet: Broadband Internet connection

Recommended Requirements

  • OS: macOS 12 (latest version)
  • Processor: 8 cores, 3.6 GHz processor 9th Generation Intel Core Coffee Lake or Apple M1 Max
  • Memory: 16GB RAM
  • Graphics: Metal capable 8GB GPU or AMD RDNA, or Apple M1 Max
  • Storage: 128GB SSD
  • Internet: Broadband Internet Connection
