Cindy Moon being in Marvel's Spider-Man 2 on PS5 is one of the biggest surprises among new characters in the game - being revealed right at the end of post-credits scene.

Of course, both Spider-Man fans old and new are now wondering who Cindy actually is and what her place in the Marvel mythos is, as well as what it mean for her story in the Insomniac universe.

Thankfully, we've got the answers telling you Miss Moon is definitely a character to get excited about. Let's right into answering who Cindy Moon is in Marvel's Spider-Man 2.

SPOILER WARNING: This guide contains major spoilers for the events of Marvel's Spider-Man 2.

Who is Cindy Moon in Marvel's Spider-Man 2?

Cindy Moon as Silk in Silk (Vol. 3) 1

The Cindy Moon who appears in the post-credits scene of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 on PS5 is developer Insomiac Game's interpretation of the comic book character who becomes Silk - a member of the heroic Spider-Family.

Introduced in Amazing Spider-Man (Vol. 3) #1 by Dan Slott, Cindy Moon was bitten by the same radioctive Spider who bit Peter Parker. However, her powers manifested differently.

To start, unlike the original Spider-Man, Cindy Moon can actually produce organic webbing - similar to Tobey Maguire's Peter Parker in the Sam Raimi movies. Unfortunately, this happened uncontrollably, accidentally webbing up her parents as a result.

Cindy was then taken away by a man called Ezekiel Sims to an where she was trained to control her abilities. Unexectedly though, after Ezekiel learned of Morlun, one of the Inheritors hunting Spider-People across the multiverse, Cindy was kept in isolation in an underground bunker for ten years.

After numerous comic book-ish events, Peter learns about Cindy and goes to free her immediately, also telling her about Morlun's defeat in this comic universe. Realising she's free to live her life, she creates an improvised costume with her organic webbing and is asked to be called "Silk" - although she eventually gets her own official superhero attire.

As Silk, Cindy Moon soon becomes embroiled in all manner of Spider-Man events across the continuity, some of which could inspire the story of her Insomniac counterpart.

Could Cindy Moon become Silk in a Marvel's Spider-Man 2 sequel?

Cindy Moon, aka Silk, in the post-credits scene of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 on PS5

In a sequel to Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Cindy could still become Silk, though it's clear events would already play out far differently to that in the comics.

To start, the Cindy Moon in the comics was around Peter's age if not older when she was bitten. In the Insomiac universe at the end of Spider-Man 2, however, she appears to be around Miles' age if not younger - as well as her still being with her father in lieu of being hidden away in an underground bunker.

Unless she somehow already has her powers at the end of Marvel's Spider-Man 2, I think it's the easiest to assume she'd get bitten by a new spider at some point in a third mainline game.

On the other hand, since her father, Albert Moon, is dating Mile's mother, Rio, in Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Cindy gaining her Silk powers could even happen in another spin-off game like Spider-Man: Miles Morales - as she's now already a part of the namesake web-head's personal life.

Until we hear any news of a sequel or DLC for the current game, we'll just have to wait and see.

That's everything you need to know about Cindy Moon in Marvel's Spider-Man 2 on PS5.
