When designing a loadout in THE FINALS, you'll notice a section alongside Specialisation, Weapon, and Gadgets titled Reserve. While the others are self-explanatory, what is Reserve in THE FINALS? Let's go over how Reserve works and how to use your Reserve Loadout in the first-person shooter from Embark Studios.

What is Reserve?

Creating a Reserve Loadout in THE FINALS

Unlike many other shooters, like Call of Duty, you can't meticulously edit or change your loadout once a match starts. So, what you decide to bring into the arena with you is extremely important because you're stuck with it, for the most part, at least.

The Reserve Loadout is a limited selection of weapons and gadgets that you can swap to mid-match in between spawns or in between rounds if you're playing a tournament.

Say you're playing the Light Build and using the SR-84 Sniper Rifle, but all the action is happening inside buildings and tight corridors. Well, you could assign the Sword or the M11 to your Reserve and change playstyles on the fly.

Is the other team tossing Smoke Grenades everywhere? Put Thermal Vision in your Reserve and counter their strategy. The Reserve Loadout allows you to prepare for whatever is thrown at you and adapt before it's too late!

How to use your Reserve Loadout

Swapping to gadgets in the Reserve Loadout in THE FINALS

As we touched on earlier, you can't use your Reserve Loadout while you're alive and fighting. You must wait until you die, and then, before you respawn, select Change Loadout. All the items in your Reserve will appear, and you can pick and choose what gear to swap in and out. When you return to life, you'll have access to your new loadout!

If you're playing in a tournament, your loadout is locked until the round ends. But if you think you need to switch things up after suffering a beatdown, you can open your Reserve between rounds in the same way and start the next round fresh with a new weapon and gadgets.

You can only fit four items in your Reserve, so be selective and opt for equipment that you think compliments the rest of your loadout. With some careful planning, your Reserve Loadout ensures you're ready for anything!
