In the early stages of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, the tutorial comes at you thick and fast so which means it’s easy to miss some important bits of information like how to counter-shot. The counter shot is one of the most useful attacks in your arsenal, it can knock your opponent back and give your squad a healthy advantage.

The game will see players taking on hordes of enemies during missions or whilst exploring Metropolis, alongside the counter shot there is also traversal and shield harvetsing to consider - all of which are meant to encourage the player to play aggressively but still require a considered approach.

To counter shot in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, you will need to press L2 +R1/LT+RB just before an enemy is about to attack you. The key here is timing, but while you’re aiming and shooting enemies you should notice a series of lightning bolts appear around them as they charge up the attack - this is when you strike with a counter shot.

The counter shot is the same for every character, regardless of what weapon you’re using and it will likely remain like this for the DLC characters once they have been released in the game. My advice for nailing the perfect counter shot is to keep an eye out for the signalling around the enemy and to practice it a few times because it has got me out of a jam on more than one occasion, immobilising some of the more challenging enemies.

That is all there is to know about the counter shot in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. If you’re looking for more guides then here is our Suicide Squad homepage where we have already covered how to change characters, the max level and more.
