Should you choose The Eye or The Lodge in Starfield?
The choice between The Eye and The Lodge boils down to which companion you want to save. The mission starts when you learn that The Eye has been attacked by someone known as The Hunter. You also learn that one of your Constellation companions has been injured on The Eye, and now The Hunter is on their way to attack The Lodge.
If you stay and defend The Lodge, you will need to help Noel to hide the artefacts. When The Hunter attacks, you will need to save Walter, and then fend off the Starborn. Once you are done, you will head to The Eye to find that the injured companion has died.
If you go to The Eye, you can help the Constellation members there and save the life of your companion. Once you are done there, you will head back to The Lodge and discover that one of your other companions was killed by The Hunter.
So as you can see, no matter what, one of your companions will die. Exactly who it is seems to change depending on your situation, but you will know once the mission begins. You will be told who has been injured on The Eye, so if you want to save them, you need to go there first. Your companion who stays to defend The Lodge will die if you leave them.
Regardless of which path you choose, the result will be the loss of a companion, and you will need to protect the artefacts in a new location.
