You may be wondering how you can turn your character invisible in Starfield for some stealthy shenanigans, and thankfully we've got all of the traits, gear, and more that you'll need to disappear.
Invisibility in any game is bound to be incredibly helpful, as well as a hell of a lot of fun. Starfield is no exception, as it is definitely one of the best abilities you can acquire in the game.
Here, we’re going to be breaking down everything you need to know about invisibility in Starfield, including the best ways for you to do so – so read on.
How do you turn invisible in Starfield?
There are several ways for you to turn invisible in Starfield, the main three being upgrading your Concealment skill, acquiring the Void Form Power from the Temple Omicron and acquiring legendary gear with the Chameleon Trait.
Chameleon Trait Gear
As you progress through the game, you’ll find certain gear with attributes already attached to it. The Mantis Spacesuit is perhaps one of the earlier outfits on which you can gain the Chameleon Trait and turn invisible while crouching.
To get this armour, however, you’re going to need to complete a particularly tricky quest. Fortunately, we have detailed everything you need to know about how to complete the Mantis quest right here, so you’ll have it in no time. It also looks pretty sharp, so you’re going to want to grab it.
Void Form power
The Void Form power is an ability you can use to turn invisible while moving for a limited time. To use it, you’re going to need 45 Power. Once you’ve got that power, and can refresh it, you don’t need to be crouched, meaning you can sneak up on enemies for a powerful attack.

What does invisibility do in Starfield?
Invisibility in Starfield does exactly what it says on the tin, it will turn your character invisible, making it exceptionally difficult for enemies to find you. This will prove helpful in missions where you might want to play stealthily or need to get away from an enemy encounter that’s out of your league.
When you turn invisible, you will still have a shimmer to spot yourself (think invisibility in the Fallout games or Predator movies), so you can still identify yourself when you're completely transparent - even if others can't.
That’s everything you need to start turning invisible in Starfield, and before you know it you’ll be a master of stealth. If you’re looking for more to do in Starfield, you should definitely check out how to get your hands on some Quantum Essence, as it is sure to help you on your journey.
