Starfield has made exploration a little better with the addition of a Planet Rover vehicle, allowing you to be quicker when getting from point A to point B. Here's how you can acquire your own vehicle and start using it on planets.
How to get a Planet Rover
The only method of acquiring a Planet Rover is visiting a Ship Services Technician and purchasing it.
You can find a technician at most major ports and cities; just approach them and select the option: "I'd like to purchase a vehicle." I recommend just visiting the technician next to the New Atlantis port for the sake of ease.
Currently, you can only purchase the Rev-8, which is a two-person rover that costs 25,000 Credits. You may also customise the colour scheme if you want it to match your ship more closely.
After buying a rover, it will automatically appear next to your ship whenever you land on a planet, whether in a port or in the randomly generated wilds.
You can approach it and press your platform's interact button to get in and then freely ride around. Rovers have the ability to boost forward for speed or rocket jump upwards, giving them useful mobility even in uneven terrain.
There is also a 360-degree plasma weapon on the top for shooting any enemies that you don't just run over. Lastly, it's equipped with a powerful headlight so you can manoeuvre in the dark.
