How to find & solve Prowler stashes in Spider-Man 2
The Prowler has stashes all over New York and it is up to the Spider-Men to find them all, here is how to find them, how to open them, and what you get.
Marvel's Spider-Man 2's Prowler Stashes are some of the many collectables found throughout New York, and a great source of important resources. Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is no less filled with collectables and side objectives than the game's predecessors.
Prowler Stashes are remnants of the Prowler's tech which Miles is tasked with tracking down to prevent them from falling into the wrong hands. To help you out, here is how to find Prowler Stash locations, how to solve the puzzles, and what rewards they provide.
How to find Prowler Stashes in Spider-Man 2
Early in the game, Miles gets a call from his uncle Aaron Davis, recently released from a prison term served for his exploits as The Prowler. He tasks Miles with tracking down his old stashes, places where he hid Prowler equipment, that he worries may be discovered by the wrong people.
After completing this initial mission, your map will be populated with the various Prowler Stashes around the map. There are nine in total to track down, which you can see on the checklists for each region on the map screen. They are each marked by a purple outline around the area the stash is hidden.
The districts where you can find Prowler Stashes are:
- Upper West Side
- Hell's Kitchen
- Midtown
- Greenwich
- Astoria
- Downtown Queens
- Little Odessa
- Williamsburg
- Downtown Brooklyn
If you can see that a Prowler Stash is present in a district but it is not marked on your map, that means it is in a part of the map you have not been to yet.
Unlike the previous game, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 does not have you travel around to antennas around the city to reveal chunks of the map. Instead, the map is revealed around you as you make your way around the city, similar to how you reveal the map in GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2.
So if you can see a Prowler Stash in the checklist for a district but there is no Prowler icon on the map, you need to go explore the areas of the map that you have not yet revealed. The easiest way to do this is to go to an undiscovered area, get to somewhere high up, and then press R3 to scan the area.
This will show you any nearby points of interest, including Prowler Stashes, which you can then highlight and follow. You will know the Prowler Stashes from the Prowler logo floating above them. If they are further away, you might just see a generic beam of light indicator, but the purple glow around the edge of the area will give it away as a Prowler Stash.
How to complete Prowler Stashes
Once you reach the marked location of a Prowler Stash, you will be prompted to press L2 to scan for it. Look around and you will see two bars on either side of your screen moving in and out. You want to get those bars to the middle of the screen, this will tell you where the stash is. If there is something blocking you from seeing it, move to get a clearer view.
Once you've scanned it, you will begin a minigame. You need to press L2 and R2 to move the icons in the meters, which you must balance in the marked zones long enough for the shape to fully form. This reveals the entrance to the stash, which you must then open. This generally involves moving yourself to the correct location and using webs to pull the door open.
Some Prowler Stashes are more complicated than others, where you must move a shipping container out of the way, or operate machinery in such a way to access the stash. Occasionally, after opening a stash you will be attacked by Kraven's hunters, so be on your toes.

What do you get from Prowler Stashes?
The rewards for completing Prowler Stashes are Rare Tech Parts. There are four resources to collect in Spider-Man 2 for various uses. The basic currency is Tech Parts, which you will collect plenty of throughout the game.
Rare Tech Parts are one of the other three, and they are used for everything from new suits, to suit powers, to unlocking and upgrading gadgets. Alongside Hero Tokens and City Tokens, they are required to get all of the suits and upgrades in the game.
There isn't a specific use for each, they are all required interchangeably across the various unlockables. As such, you will want to gather them all to upgrade your gear and your look.
