Skull and Bones is the new pirate adventure from Ubisoft, and it's finally available for players to get their hands on - but does it have crossplay or cross-progression?

This guide will explain both features, and whether the game supports them. So if you're looking to play with friends on other systems or transfer the same save across different platforms, read on!

Does Skull and Bones have crossplay?

Yes, Skull and Bones has crossplay between all platforms the game is currently on.

That means you can play with your friends on any system, regardless of whether you're on PC and they're on console (or vice versa). However, you'll have to set it up in the game's settings for it to be enabled.

Co-op confirmation for Skull and Bones.

How to enable crossplay

Turning on the feature in Skull and Bones is pretty straightforward, and all you need to do is follow the steps below when you're in-game:

  • Go to the Settings on the main menu
  • Go to Accessibility
  • Scroll to the Crossplay option and turn it on

Now you should be able to join your friends on other platforms. However, you'll need to add their Ubisoft account, as this is the account you'll use to play Skull and Bones.

Is there cross-progression?

In addition to crossplay, Skull and Bones does have cross-progression too.

The way it works is that your save will persist across different systems, and you can log into your Ubisoft account when playing the game on other platforms to access that save.

That means all your progress on that save can be carried over to another system. That includes your Infamy level, your ships, and everything else you've unlocked. Essentially, you can swap between platforms and continue the same save as long as you're using the same Ubisoft account.
