The hospital is a lot in The Sims 4 that arrived with the Get To Work Expansion Pack, letting Simmers head off to work with their Sims or visit it if they've fallen ill or need a baby delivering.

You'd be forgiven for not knowing how to get to the hospital in the game, though, because it's not shown on the world map like a cafe, park, or another community lot is.

How to go to the hospital

The hospital lot, known as the Willow Creek Hospital, is situated in the Civic Center neighbourhood of Willow Creek, and the easiest ways to visit the hospital are either via labour or through the Doctor career.

If your Sim is ready to go into labour, you can be whisked off to the lot by clicking on them and selecting the 'Have Baby At Hospital' option on the pie menu that appears.

Alternatively, when Sims are enrolled in the Doctor career - which is one of the few 'active careers' in the game where you can join them at work - you'll get an option to stay at home or go with them when it's time for their shift to start.

Editing the hospital in The Sims 4

The hospital is one of the few places that can't be edited by regular means, so if you're ready to get all Dream Home (Hospital?) Decorator on the lot and give it a refresh, you'll need to use cheats to enable that option.

The cheat console in The Sims 4

This is because you can't edit the lot or go into the 'Manage Worlds' section when visiting the hospital, so you'll want to first enable cheats in your game by doing the following:

  • On PC, press CTRL, Shift, C
  • Mac Simmers, you'll want to press CMD, Shift, C
  • If you're on a console, it's simply a case of holding down all four shoulder buttons

Next, as shown in the image above, this will cause a white box to appear in the top left of your screen. Click into that and type 'testingcheats on' before pressing enter. The game should then notify you in this box that cheats have been enabled.

In that same cheat bar, enter 'bb.enablefreebuild', and you'll then have the option to head into Build/Buy mode to start tweaking the lot to your heart's content.

Now that you're up to speed on all things relating to the hospital, make sure to check out our homepage for The Sims, where you'll find a Doctor diagnosis list, a breakdown of the best mods to download or the best Expansions and Packs.
