The Sims 4: Parenthood Game Pack adds a character values system into the mix, where Teen Sims can ask parents for advice or fulfil tasks to gain unique traits for doing so when ageing up.

Character values cheats can be useful if you want to start a challenge (like the Disney Princess Challenge) in the game to try and redeem a Sim, add a trait to a Sim that's a Young Adult or older, or if you want to max out your Teen's character values right away.

A Sim's character values can be raised or lowered by entering cheats, and depending on which way you decide to take them, these values can even earn your Sims unique traits like 'Bad Manners' and 'Compassionate'.

All of the character values cheats you can enter are listed below:

Character Value

Cheat Code

Conflict Resolution

stats.set_stat lifeskillstatistic_conflictresolution X

Emotional Control

stats.set_stat lifeskillstatistic_emotionalcontrol X

Empathy

stats.set_stat lifeskillstatistic_empathy X

Manners

stats.set_stat lifeskillstatistic_manners X

Responsibility

stats.set_stat lifeskillstatistic_responsibility

When entering one of the cheats above, you'll need to replace the 'X' in the code with the level you wish to raise or lower the value by.

To do so, bring up the cheat window in the top-left of your screen by pressing CTRL, Shift, and C, (or by pressing all four bumpers in on console) and follow these steps:

  • To max out the Conflict Resolution trait, you'd enter 'stats.set_stat lifeskillstatistic_conflictresolution 100'
  • Alternatively, to fully lower the value, you'd instead type 'stats.set_stat lifeskillstatistic_conflictresolution -100'

Once you've entered the code into the box, simply press 'Enter' and the cheat will apply.

If you'd like to add a trait to your Sim without needing to cheat or play your way through the character values system, you can instead equip the specific traits linked to a Sim that's a Young Adult or above with another set of cheats:

Trait

Cheat Code

Bad Manners

traits.equip_trait BadManners

Good Manners

traits.equip_trait GoodManners

Irresponsible

traits.equip_trait Irresponsible

Responsible

traits.equip_trait LifeSkills_Responsible

Argumentative

Mediator

traits.equip_trait Mediator

Uncontrolled

traits.equip_trait Uncontrolled

Emotional Control

traits.equip_trait EmotionalControl

Compassionate

traits.equip_trait Compassionate

Insensitive

traits.equip_trait LifeSkills_Unfeeling

To remove one of the above traits (perhaps your Sim already had this particular trait or you no longer want them to have it), replace 'equip' from the above list with 'remove', while keeping everything else exactly as shown.

Outside of the character values system, there are additional cheats that shipped with Parenthood which are useful from both a gameplay and storytelling perspective:
