On the other hand, when you switch to Framerate Mode, both consoles run the game at 2160p with dynamic resolution and FPS capped at 60. Then again, the Xbox Series X still suffers compared to the PlayStation 5, as we can see a few minor dips where the FPS drops to 57 to 59 in some areas.
Turning on Ray Tracing doesn't affect the performance much on either console, as the game still targets 2160p at 60 FPS. Moreover, there are no texture-popping issues with any of the two modes. So, if you are playing Resident Evil Remake on a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X, we recommend you use the Resolution mode.
Talking about the previous-gen consoles, the base PlayStation 4 runs Resident Evil 4 Remake at 900p with variable FPS, mostly averaging around 44 to 45. That aside, no graphic mode options are available on the base PlayStation 4.
Meanwhile, on the PS4 Pro, we have the Resolution mode. This runs Resident Evil 4 Remake at 2160p at 30 FPS with a few minor dips and rises depending on the set piece. At the same time, the Framerate mode runs the game at 60 FPS at the expense of resolution, which is dynamic 1080p.
Finally, let's talk about the Xbox Series S, one of the most underrated next-gen consoles. The Series S runs Resident Evil 4 Remake in Resolution mode at 40 FPS(variable) at 1440p. Whereas, with the Framerate mode, the game runs at 60 FPS at 1080p resolution.
Now that you know the difference between Resident Evil 4 Remake Resolution and Framerate modes, we hope choosing between the two modes is easier than before.
