As part of the Pokémon GO Tour: Hoenn – Global, the upcoming Primal Rumblings event will give way to increased encounters and raids of particular gen-three Pokemon, along with extra rewards. One of the biggest draws though is the added Rayquaza raid with the featured Breaking Swipe attack. Let's get into the Rayquza Pokemon GO counters you'll need.
This special Rayquza for the Primal Rumblings event is only available for a limited time. If you want a Rayquza with the exclusive Charged Attack, Breaking Swipe, you'll need to encounter and defeat one of the 5-star Rayquza raids from Wednesday, 22 February 2023 at 10AM to Wednesday 1 March at 10AM local time.
What's more, if you're lucky, you could encounter a Shiny Rayquza as well. Since it's a 5-star raid though, you'll need at least two other players to join you.
Rayquaza Pokemon GO Counters
Rayquza is a dual Dragon-Flying type. That means it thankfully has more weaknesses than that of a pure Dragon-type.
Altogether, your options for Rayquaza Pokemon GO counters are those of Dragon, Fairy, Ice, and Rock-type. Ideal Pokemon amongst these types include Glaceon, Weavile, Salamence, Goodra, Granbull, Florges, Ramparos, Regirock, and even more.
However, the most effective Rayquaza Pokemon GO counters will be those of the Ice type. Since Ice is effective against both Rayquaza's Dragon and Flying types, it will be 256% super effective instead of the standard 160% super effective damage.
