How to get Piplup in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet's Indigo Disk DLC
The charming Sinnoh starter Piplup has arrived in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet's Indigo Disk DLC, so here's how to find it and evolve it into Empoleon.
If you want to add an imposing Empoleon to your team in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet's Indigo Disk DLC, you'll first need to know where to find the Water-type starter Piplup.
With all of the starter Pokemon from previous generations returning in The Indigo Disk expansion, fans of the Sinnoh region will likely be on the lookout for a cute Piplup. Here's where to find it in the game's Terarium and how to evolve it into Prinplup and Empoleon.
Where to find Piplup in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet
You can find Piplup in the northern area of the Polar Biome. Piplip is quite small and difficult to spot, especially as it blends in with its icy surroundings, but an icon will sometimes appear on the map to help guide you to the right location.
Before you can find Piplup, you'll need to donate 3,000 BP to the Terarium Club at the PC in the League Club Room so they can increase the kinds of Pokemon that spawn here. We've got a guide to farming BP fast if you want to speed up the process.
Once you've donated, head to the northern side of the Polar Biome and look for a Piplup. Having such a large area to search can make this a little tricky, but I found quite a few of them all over so hopefully it won't take you too long!
How to evolve Piplup into Prinplup
Piplup evolves into Prinplup when it reaches Level 16, which means it shouldn't take you too long to get this first-stage evolution.
If your Piplup is already above this level, simply raise it by one level and it will evolve.
How to evolve Prinplup into Empoleon
Prinplup will evolve into Empoleon as soon as it reaches Level 36. There are no special evolution items needed to complete this process.
Similar to the previous stage, if your Prinplup is already above Level 36, you'll just need to raise it by one level and it will evolve right away. You can use Exp. Candies or a Rare Candy if you don't want to train it.
