Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Paradox Pokemon are a new type of Pokemon that appears late in the games. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet give players a lot to do once the main story is complete, including tracking down the newly available Paradox Pokemon. Here is everything you need to know about Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Paradox Pokemon.

Pokemon Scarlet And Violet Paradox Pokemon: What Are They?

First and foremost, we need to warn you of some big old spoilers ahead. What we can say is that you need only concern yourself with Paradox Pokemon once you have finished the game. Some make appearances before the end of the game but for the most part, they are a post-game feature. So consider this the final warning before we delve into some spoilers.

As you might discern from their appearances, Paradox Pokemon are Pokemon out of time. The ones that appear in Scarlet are from the distant past, and the ones in Violet are from the distant future. This is why they resemble contemporary Pokemon, but are markedly different. They are evolutionary relatives of those Pokemon from different times.

Their appearance in the games has to do with time travel experiments conducted in the Great Crater of Paldea, where the Pokemon have been sequestered to keep the general Pokemon ecosystem intact. There are fourteen in total, seven in each game and from each period. Koraidon and Miraidon are also technically Paradox Pokemon, they come from the past/future and are both related to the modern Pokemon, Cyclizar.

Pokemon Scarlet And Violet Paradox Pokemon: How To Catch

The first of these Pokemon you can catch is either Great Tusk/Iron Treads, the Paradox Equivalent of Donphan. This Pokemon escaped from the crater and has become a Titan Pokemon, which is why you run into them during the main story. This Titan Pokemon can be found in the Asado Desert, and once defeated you can catch it there.

After that, you need to complete the rest of the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet story paths. Once the three stories are done, you will be sent to Area Zero. Complete this epilogue and you will gain free access to the teleporter inside the main Area Zero door. This can be used to travel to the four Research Stations around Area Zero.

Now, the Pokemon you find are different depending on your version, but the locations of the Paradox Pokemon seem to be the same in both games, just differing Pokemon. Paradox Pokemon can be found all over the area, but some specific places where you can find them include; just outside the main door of Research Station No. 1, up the hill to the right of that door, the giant cave across from Research Station No. 3, and also, from that station, there is a hidden cave to the left where you can find one of the most powerful Paradox Pokemon.

When you exit Research Station No. 3 and you are facing the giant cave entrance, go through the gap in the cliff to the left of it. Just as you enter this area, on your left there will be a small gap in the large rock formation. Go through that gap to enter a hidden cave, inside of which near a waterfall, the last Paradox Pokemon can be found. In Scarlet, this Pokemon is Roaring Moon (Salamence), and in Violet, you will find Iron Valiant (Gallade).

That is it for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Paradox Pokemon. For more on the game, check out our Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Ditto and Zorua catching guide.
