Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Patch: Added Features
With the day one patch, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have several of their online features activated. This includes up to four-player co-op, Tera Raid battles, and the Battle Stadium. Four-player co-op is a new feature that allows up to four friends to adventure through the Paldea region together.
Tera Raid battles are this generation's equivalent of Dynamax battles, and the Battle Stadium is your hub for online play. With the addition of the patch, all of these online features have been made active. For the Battle Stadium, online battles are available, but players will have to wait until December for ranked battles, and early next year for online competitions.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Day One Patch Notes
Pokemon is not typically a series about which we would discuss patch notes, but such is the world we live in these days. Evidently, Game Freak is not used to it yet either, as information on what exactly is in the patch is fairly slim. What we can say, is there doesn't seem to be much in the way of bug fixes. There hasn't been any mention of changes to performance or fixing any of the many known issues.
For the most part, other than adding the online features, this patch has made some fixes like making sure many Pokemon can learn moves from various sources, like with TMs or from the Move Tutor. Some Pokemon have had some small stat changes, but considering this is a day one patch, it is hard to say what those changes really mean.
The key thing is, this patch seems to have no bug fixes whatsoever. It would seem we will need to wait until a future update to see if bug fixes or performance improvements are on the way. In the meantime, players can use the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Mystery Gift system to get themselves a Pikachu with the Flying Tera type as a reward for installing the patch. The patch is 1GB, so be sure to download it to get the full features of the game.
