Wyrdeer is making its Pokemon GO debut in a special Raid Day event, but you'll need to know the best counters to take advantage of its weaknesses if you want to defeat it.

Fans of Pokemon Legends: Arceus will already know that Stantler has an evolution called Wyrdeer that's exclusive to the Hisui region. But now, after almost two years, there's another way to get one: By defeating it in a Raid Battle in Pokemon GO!

Wyrdeer weaknesses in Pokemon GO

Wyrdeer is a Normal/Psychic-type Pokemon, which means it's weak to Bug-type and Dark-type attacks.

On the other hand, Wyrdeer is resistant to Ghost-type and Psychic-type attacks, so avoid using those wherever possible as they won't do much damage at all.

Best counters to defeat Wyrdeer

Here are some of the top counters you can use to defeat Wyrdeer:

Pokemon Best Moveset Sprite
Mega Tyranitar Bite & Brutal Swing Mega Tyranitar
Mega Houndoom Snarl & Foul Play Mega Houndoom
Darkrai Snarl & Dark Pulse Darkrai
Pheromosa Bug Bite & Bug Buzz Pheromosa
Hydreigon Bite & Brutal Swing Hydreigon
Weavile Snarl & Foul Play Weavile in Pokemon GO
Zarude Bite & Dark Pulse Zarude
Absol Snarl & Dark Pulse Absol
Vikavolt Bug Bite & X-Scissor Vikavolt
Scrafty Snarl & Foul Play Scrafty in Pokemon GO

There's a good mix of Megas, Legendaries, and more common Pokemon in the table above, but don't worry if you don't have any of them. Simply focus on your strongest Bug-type and Dark-type Pokemon.

Can you get Shiny Wyrdeer in Pokemon GO?

The good news is that Shiny Wyrdeer is available in Pokemon GO! Niantic rarely debuts a new Pokemon alongside its Shiny variant, so make the most of this unusual occurrence while it's in 3-Star Raids.

Shinies are very difficult to find in Pokemon GO, but during the Wyrdeer Raid Day event on December 23 from 2PM to 5PM, Wyrdeer will have boosted Shiny odds - making it the perfect time to try and get one.

I'd recommend teaming up with at least one or two other Trainers when battling Wyrdeer, but if you have a decent lineup of strong counters, it should be possible to defeat this Hisuian Pokemon all by yourself.

That's everything you need to know about Wyrdeer! Visit our Pokemon homepage for more guides like the Spotlight Hour schedule, the best team for the Great League, or how to find and defeat Giovanni.
