Pokemon GO World of Wonders season dates, spawns, Poipole debut
Pokemon GO's next season is called World of Wonders, so here's all the information you need including wild spawns, event dates, bonuses, and more!
The next season of Pokemon GO has been revealed! It's called World of Wonders and it puts the focus on the powerful Ultra Beast Poipole as well as some new Paldean creatures like Charcadet.
Now that Pokemon GO Tour: Sinnoh has wrapped up and the season of Timeless Travels is over, it's time to look ahead to what's coming next. Niantic has already revealed some key details about the new World of Wonders season, and you can find the most important information right here!
When does the World of Wonders season start & end?
The World of Wonders season will begin on March 1, 2024, and run until June 1, 2024.
This is the same three-month schedule that previous Pokemon GO seasons have used, so expect monthly updates and plenty of wonder-themed events in that timespan!
Poipole arrives in Pokemon GO
We've already had several Ultra Beasts like Buzzwole and Pheromosa added to Pokemon GO over the past year, but now it's time for Poipole to make its debut!
You'll be able to claim the World of Wonders Special Research story from March 1, 2024, during which you'll be able to "adventure and bond" with your very own Poipole. New tasks will unlock throughout the season.
We don't know anything about Poipole's evolution Naganadel just yet, but hopefully, we'll be able to evolve it as we work our way through the Special Research story, a little bit like we did with Cosmog and Cosmoem.
The teaser video for the World of Wonders season featured an Ultra Wormhole, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we also get Stakataka and Blacephalon this season!
More Pokemon will debut during World of Wonders
It's not just Poipole that you'll get to meet for the first time in Pokemon GO this season: Paldea's Charcadet and its evolutions Armarouge and Ceruledge will make their debut during the Pokémon Horizons: The Series Celebration event on March 5, 2024!
Additionally, you'll be able to battle Shadow Raikou, Shadow Entei, and Shadow Suicune in Shadow Raids on weekends throughout this season. It's likely that each Legendary will appear in Shadow Raids on separate months, although that hasn't been confirmed yet.
Wonder Ticket provides extra rewards
Trainers will be able to purchase a three-part Wonder Ticket during this new season. It will include Pokemon encounters, a new avatar item, and seasonal Timed Research to complete.
From the image below, it looks like the ticket will feature a Poipole-themed hat and encounters with Beedrill, Galarian Slowpoke, and Cacturne. There's definitely a focus on Poison-type Pokemon this season!
Research Breakthroughs in World of Wonders
Research Breakthroughs are getting a good shakeup this season, with the following Pokemon available to encounter when you complete Field Research tasks on seven different days:
- Hisuian Sneasel
- Furfrou
- Goomy
- Sandygast
- Jangmo-O
- Dubwool
I've still not caught a Sandygast nor evolved a Hisuian Sneasel so I'm very happy with these changes.
Wild spawns during World of Wonders
The following Pokemon can be encountered during the new season:
Location | Spawns |
Cities | Togetic, Gardevoir, Delcatty, Gulpin, Stunky, Purrloin, and Scraggy |
Forests | Jumpluff, Absol, Elgyem, Phantump, Dewpider, Fomantis, and Pawmi |
Mountains | Magcargo, Phanpy, Nosepass, Medicham, Duskull, Carbink, and Noibat |
Beaches & Water | Quagsire, Shuckle, Surskit, Clamperl, Inkay, Clauncher, and Tadbulb |
Northern Hemisphere | Hisuian Growlithe, Mawile, Bagon, Snivy, Tepig, Oshawott, and Litleo |
Southern Hemisphere | Hisuian Voltorb, Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Skarmory, Larvitar and Electrike |
These are the Pokemon that have been confirmed by Niantic, but there will be plenty more you can encounter throughout the season.
World of Wonders seasonal bonuses
During this season, you'll be able to enjoy the following bonuses:
- Increased damage dealt by Pokémon participating in raids with Friends
- One additional free Raid Pass per day by spinning Gym Photo Discs
- Increased XP for defeating one-star and three-star Raids, including one-star and three-star Shadow Raids
The extra free Raid Pass per day is definitely a welcome bonus, as I'm always running out of them.
That's everything we know about the World of Wonders season so far, but there is quite a bit of speculation that we'll get a Nidoran Community Day as the Pokemon was featured heavily in this season's teaser video.
I'm surprised there hasn't been one already (I had to double-check) - but I would definitely appreciate the chance to get a Shiny Nidoking! Of course, I'll update this page once anything gets confirmed.
