If you fired up MW3 recently, then you may have noticed your Rank has dropped all the way down to Rank 1. The important thing is not to panic, as Activision is working on a fix for the issue. Below, I’ve outlined the best thing you can do regarding this in-game problem, including what might have caused it and the full impacts of the problem.

Why has your Rank been reset to level one in MW3?

MW3 level

The MW3 bug was first a problem in February but it still hasn’t been properly fixed as of April, although there have been a couple of patches since then that have helped the issue.

The rank was reset due to a service outage. Since the Call of Duty outage X page posted “A service outage that prevented progress from being tracked in various modes and features, including events, challenges, Battle Pass, SR, access to specific modes like Zombies, and more, is recovering.” Since then, they have not said much more about the situation other than, updates and fixes are being rolled out gradually.

For now, there is not much more you can do than wait for the impending update and fix, but the good news is the fix should reset the problem. Considering how big the problem is, it can’t be much longer until a fix is rolled out.

To keep up to date with any issues, follow the aforementioned Call of Duty updates page and for more guides check out our MW3 homepage to familiarise yourself with a rundown of the overall best guns in MW3, or every single Killstreak so you can pick the best selections for your playstyle.
