How to unlock the Dual Kodachis melee weapon in MW2 & Warzone 2
Fitting to the theme of Season 02, the Dual Kodachis weapon is back in MW2 and Warzone 2.
Call of Duty players will find that these potent blades tear enemies to shreds — if you can close the distance. Let's review what you need to do to unlock the Dual Kodachis in MW2 and Warzone 2.
How to unlock the Dual Kodachis
The Dual Kodachis are available in the Season 02 Battle Pass as a free reward. You will need to progress through the Season 02 Battle Pass by using Battle Token Tier Skips to unlock this melee weapon. You can get Battle Token Tier Skips by earning XP in MW2, DMZ, or Warzone 2 or by spending CoD Points.
Until the MW2 Season 02 release date on February 15, 2023, we won't know exactly which Sector the Dual Kodachis will reside in. Expect the Dual Kodachis to be a High-Value Target (HVT), meaning that you will need to unlock all the other rewards in the Dual Kodachis' Sector before you can use a Battle Pass Tier Skip to unlock the Dual Kodachis.
The Season 02 Battle Pass will contain a variety of these HVTs, including the ISO Hemlock Assault Rifle and the KV Broadside Shotgun. MW2 and Warzone 2 players will need to make tough choices regarding how to navigate the Season 02 Battle Pass and which Sectors they want to prioritise. If you focus on the Dual Kodachis, it might be a while before you can unlock the other brand-new Season 02 weapons.
If you feel it's taking too long to grind through the Season 02 Battle Pass, remember that you can also unlock the Dual Kodachis melee weapon in MW2 and Warzone 2 by purchasing Bundles containing the Dual Kodachis in the in-game Store or by extracting with the Dual Kodachis in MW2 DMZ.
Operators that fail to unlock the Dual Kodachis by the end of Season 02 can gain access to the Dual Kodachis in Season 03 and beyond via an in-game Weapon Unlock Challenge.
Dual Kodachis overview
Fans of Modern Warfare 2019 may remember the Dual Kodachis. Well, these deadly carbon steel blades are making their return in MW2 and Warzone 2.
The Dual Kodachis' extended range, attack speed, and one-hit kill potential make this melee weapon one to be feared in close-quarters combat. The Dual Kodachis are far deadlier than a regular Knife, but the added power comes at the cost of slower strafe and sprint speeds.
