Mortal Kombat 1, rollback netcode would truly help the game shine. More often than not, this type of connectivity truly improves your online gaming experience. Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8 will be supporting this fan-favourite netcode, so here's whether or not Mortal Kombat 1 will do the same.

Thankfully, Mortal Kombat 1 will support rollback netcode. "Yes, Mortal Kombat 1 will have rollback netcode to support online gameplay," says WB Games in an official Q&A. You'll be able to test this connectivity during the game's beta in August and an upcoming Stress Test before the game's official release.

Rollback netcode is a much-requested feature from fighting game fans. To put it in simple terms, it's a system that predicts incoming attacks, reducing input delay. Most of the time, this is a massive improvement from the traditional delay-based netcode.

What other multiplayer features are there?

Mortal Kombat 1 may support cross-play between all of the game's systems, including the Nintendo Switch. At first the Q&A confirmed the feature will be coming after the game's launch. However, a reference to cross-play in this post has been deleted. Whether or not Mortal Kombat 1 will launch with crossplay remains to be seen. It would be cool to play with Nintendo Switch players with a PS5, Xbox Series X/S, or PC system, however.

To access online gameplay in Mortal Kombat 1, you'll need an Xbox Live Gold, PlayStation Plus, or Switch Online membership. You'll have to test the might of your wallet.

You'll be able to beat up other kombantants when the game officially releases on September 19. If you get the Premium or Kollector’s Edition, on the other hand, you'll get five days of early access.
