Not the most popular feature in the first game, players will wonder if MJ missions will be back in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Whilst some Spidey fans welcomed the Mary Jane Watson adventures as something different compared to the usual web-slinging and swinging across New York, others weren’t a fan - viewing them more as forced and basic stealth missions that took away from the core fun of the game.
So, let’s dive right into whether the MJ missions have made a return in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

Are MJ missions back in Marvel's Spider-Man 2?
Yes, MJ missions are back in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 - being either great or bad news depending on what you thought of them the first time around. Specifically, the MJ missions start from the story mission, “Good Men”, which takes place after six to seven hours of gameplay if you’ve kept side mission activities to a minimum.
Although the MJ missions in the Spider-Man sequel are in general the same as before, there have been some tweaks to make them more engaging this time around.
For example, MJ is now equipped with a Sable pistol (from her Symkaria days during Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales) which she now uses as a stun gun to perform stealth takedowns on enemies in. What’s more, as the game goes on, Miss Watson will unlock extra stealth combat features as well like a web-shooter pistol attachment.
Whilst these extra tweaks still may not be adequate in satisfying naysayers, I would say the MJ missions in Spider-Man 2 feel few and far between enough that they don’t feel too grating - in some instances making them beneficial to the story by having MJ’s perspective during the events of the game.
