How to get Mega Salamence in Pokemon GO
Mega Salamence, Salamence's epic Mega Evolution, is finally coming to Pokemon GO - but not everyone knows how to catch it. Here is how to catch your own Mega Salamence!
Mega Salamence, the Mega Evolution of the epic third-generation Dragon-Type is finally coming to Pokemon GO. However, not all players of the massive mobile game will know how to catch this beast for themselves. Let's get into all you need to know about the Mega Salamence debut and how to catch it.
How can you get Mega Salamence?
You will be able to get Mega Salamence in Mega Raids as part of Pokemon GO's upcoming Twinkling Fantasy event. This event starts on Tuesday, 10 January, 2023, at 8AM to Monday, 16 January 2023, at 10PM local time worldwide, as confirmed in a new Pokemon GO news blog post.
What's more, there's a chance you may encounter a shiny Mega Salamence as well. From its start time, all you need to do is look around your local gyms in the game for raids sporting the Mega Raid icon.
For the raid itself, Mega Salamence will have a CP of 50285. So, you'll definitely need a raid party to take the mega-dragon on. However, Mega Salamence does have a decent handful of weaknesses:
- Ice - x 2.56 damage
- Rock, Dragon, and Fairy - x 1.6 damage
As with other Mega Raid Bosses in Pokemon GO, you'll receive an amount Mega Energy varying on how quickly you defeat Mega Salamence. After you defeat Mega Salamence, it will then devolve into regular Salamence which you can then catch.
Succeed, and a Salamence which you can now Mega Evolve into Mega Salamence is now yours!
