How to tame & recruit animals in LEGO Fortnite
In this guide, I explain how you can craft Barn and Animal Treats and use them to tame and recruit animals like cows, pigs, chickens and sheep in LEGO Fortnite.

LEGO Fortnite's Farm Friends update added a plethora of new content to the game, including the new animal recruitment feature that allows players to recruit and keep animals like cows, pigs, and others in their base. These can be farmed for resources like Mushrooms, Wool, etc.
So, if you want to expand your farm in the game, keep reading my guide as I walk you through the steps to tame and recruit animals in LEGO Fortnite.
How to tame and recruit animals
In LEGO Fortnite, you can tame and recruit animals like cows, sheep, chickens, and the newly added pigs by making a Barn in your base, using the Animal Treat to lure the animals to the Barn's location, and assigning it to the respective animal.
First of all, open the Build menu and craft a Barn using 20 Planks that you can obtain from processing Wood in the Lumber Mill station. Each Barn building can hold a single animal. So ensure you have enough crafted in your base.
When you craft your first Barn, you will unlock the recipe for making Animal Treats, which requires the Grill cooking station and the following ingredients:
- Vines x5
- Corn x5
You can obtain Vines from the bushes while harvesting crops and fruits from the plants. On the other hand, you can get corn from the corn plants common in the Grasslands biome. Since finding them can be hard sometimes, I have shared the spawn location of the corn plants in the below map screenshot:
Once you have the ingredients, craft a few Animal Treats at the Grill. Depending on the animal spawn distance from your base, hoard some extra Animal Treats.
Now, head to the animal location whom you want to tame and recruit. Since Pigs are new animals, I have shared their location on the below map screenshot:
You can also find almost every other animal in the Grasslands biome. If you are having difficulty finding them, just head to any animal spawn location, exit the game, and rejoin your server. Doing so will spawn a random animal in that location.
Now, once you are near an animal, equip the Animal Treat and go near them. Instead of the 'Pet' option, you will get the 'Feed' option. Press the interact key to feed the animal. You can also throw the Animal Treat on the ground, and the nearby animal will eat it.
That said, as soon as the animal eats the Animal Treat, yellow hearts start popping out continuously. Now, make your way towards your base while protecting the animal and making sure the heart icon is popping out. If it stops, you have to feed another Animal Treat.
Keep doing this until you reach your base. Now, head to the Barn, interact with it and assign the animal to follow you. Doing so will tame and recruit the respective animal in LEGO Fortnite.
