Can you play League of Legends on Xbox?
League of Legends has been a much requested game for Xbox users, and if you're wondering if it's possible to play on there, we have the answer right here.
Xbox kicked off its 2022 showcase with a bang when it announced a partnership with Riot Games, the team behind League of Legends. However, if you haven't looked into the partnership you might be wondering whether this actually means you can play LoL on Xbox.
Since then, many have wondered if League of Legends is playable on Xbox, and if you’re curious to know if LoL is on console here's everything you need to know.
Can you play League of Legends on Xbox?
In short, no you can't play League of Legends on Xbox. You can launch the game through the Xbox app on PC, but you can't play it on consoles.
The partnership between Riot and Xbox didn't actually lead to the former's games being put on the Xbox platform. Instead, the partnership was for Xbox Game Pass, offering subscribers various bonuses in Riot's games if they link their Xbox Profile to a Riot account.
What can you get via Game Pass in League of Legends?
If you're playing League of Legends on an account linked to an Xbox profile with Game Pass, you'll unlock the following features:
- All Champions in the game
- Day-one access to new Champions
- 20% XP Boost
Essentially, this allows you to skip the game's progression system when it comes to acquiring Champions. Normally it takes a long time to unlock them all, as you have to earn each one by playing the game and purchasing them with in-game currency.
It can take a non-Game Pass player years to get all the Champions, so this is a pretty amazing feature. You'll also get all the new Champions right away, which is great for anyone who can't afford to keep up with all the new releases.
For a full list of the bonuses you can get in each of Riot's games via Game Pass, including VALORANT, TFT and more, check out the Xbox website here.
