Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is a game you can play on your own,  or in co-op with pals. After putting many hours into the game in both modes, we are here to answer which mode we found the most fun to play.

The game is developed by Rocksteady, which built its reputation on the single-player Arkham trilogy. However, this time it's exploring new territory by entering the live service, looter shooter space. Traditionally this kind of game is best when played with friends, so keep reading to find out if Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is the same as all the others.

Is Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League better solo?

I spent the majority of my playthrough playing Suicide Squad solo and I never felt I was missing out on any features or gameplay mechanics that were intended to be experienced with friends.

The loop of the game relies on going to different areas of the map, killing a batch of enemies while completing a task, and then repeating it. On top of that, you’re moving around so quickly it’s hard to notice how close your other friends are whilst hooning around Metropolis.

What about co-op?

If you’re playing Suicide Squad in co-op multiplayer, you will always have the added joy of playing with your friends, watching the cutscenes together and the game sparking all sorts of conversation.

You won’t be able to switch through characters quite as easily, but there will come a point in Suicide Squad where you will no doubt favour a certain villain anyway. The only thing playing in co-op improves in the moment-to-moment gameplay is the boss battles. They offer a welcome spectacle and a satisfying challenge to figure out together.

What do we recommend?

Ultimately, it doesn’t matter how you choose to play Suicide Squad as you're getting a great experience either way. However, if you decide to play it on your own, you won’t be missing anything. Unlike many co-op games, it's still a very serviceable single-player experience.
