Call of Duty Modern Warfare has been one of the few things that have maintained gamers' sanity during the Covid-19 lockdowns, with players grinding countless hours to rip through the battle pass tiers, or simply to get good at the game. However, if you are looking for a challenge, the Damascus camo is right up your street. Here’s how to unlock the Damascus camo in Modern Warfare.
Spoiler – prepare for a serious CoD grind
What is the Damascus Camo?
The Damascus camo is unlocked by achieving every other camouflage in the game for each weapon; That means having gold on all 39 guns that you can use. As well as looking awesome when equipped to your gun, the Damascus camo has an aura of significance about it. Seeing it on your Kill-Cam creates a sense of awe for the person who owns it. You will definitely be held in high regard if you sport the Damascus.
How to unlock the Damascus Camo
You will unlock the Damascus Camo by getting gold on each weapon that you can use. That means all primary weapons (Assault Rifles, Submachine Guns, Light Machine Guns, Marksmen Rifles, Snipers and Shotguns), and all secondary weapons (Pistols, Launchers and Melee).

To achieve the gold camo you will have to unlock every camo for the weapon you are wielding. There are ten categories for each weapon, which require a series of challenges for you to unlock them. Ranging from longshot kills to kills shortly after reloading, these challenges can be somewhat tedious, giving the Damascus Camo an essence of self-gratitude. Some weapons, such as the popular M4A1, can be completed much quicker than others, for instance, the Riot Shield, which can leave you wanting to pull it out of the screen and bang your head against it.
Infinity Ward has predicted that it can take approximately 18 hours to get a gold gun camo, meaning that with the 39 guns, this can take you just over 702 hours of gameplay – although we think you can get this done much quicker by following our Call of Duty tips further down this page.
Tips to help you unlock Damascus quickly
#1 – Leave one of your favourite guns until the end. Spreading out your favourite weapons will keep you from losing momentum in the grind for the Damascus.
#2 – Run a melee weapon as your secondary throughout the process. Having a knife or riot shield equipped may allow you to complete some challenges for that weapon on the side. This will take a significant amount of time off the total.
#3 – Play a suitable game mode. Objective game modes are best as you will need to complete challenges such as double kills and attack medals. Catching people running to an objective will help you complete these quickly. We would recommend playing a mixture of Ground War, for multi-kills and high kill games, and Hardcore Hardpoint, as you will be required to get 1 shot kills.
#4 – Start with the most difficult challenges. Challenges like ‘Overall kills’ will progress whilst you complete other challenges, so it is best not to focus your time in completing these first. Most challenges require you to get kills, so choosing an order that suits you best will help optimise the speed in which you complete them in.
#5 – Choose your attachments wisely. Some challenges like ‘hip-fire’ kills can be made easier by equipping the correct attachments. The 5mW laser and the Merc Foregrip increase hip-fire accuracy, which will help you massively when trying to complete this.
Follow these five tips will help you quickly progress through these challenges.
