While a Red Lightsaber represents the dark side in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, that won't stop players from wanting to get their hands on the iconic color for Cal Kestis.

While almost every color is available for your lightsaber as soon as you unlock a workbench, the Red Lightsaber is noticeably absent. However, it is possible to unlock a Red Lightsaber for Cal, but you'll need to complete quite a few steps before you can take on the entire adventure with one equipped.

How to get a Red Lightsaber

In order to unlock a Red Lightsaber, you'll need to complete the game's main story and unlock New Game Plus. One of the rewards for starting NG+ is the Red Lightsaber as well as the Party Lightsaber.

This means as soon as you start your next playthrough in New Game Plus and reach a Workbench, you'll immediately be able to equip Cal with a Red Lightsaber.

If you're desperate to get your hands on a Red Lightsaber in your first playthrough, it's worth noting that in the later stages of the main story, Cal does get the chance to use one.

However, this Red Lightsaber cannot be permanently equipped as his main weapon until you've started New Game Plus.

While having to wait for a full playthrough to permanently unlock the Red Lightsaber will be frustrating for some players, it's certainly well worth the time investment if you're keen on embracing the dark side.
