How to flip a Troll's club into its face in Hogwarts Legacy
Here's how to flip a Troll's club into its face in Hogwarts Legacy, a Duelling Feat that can earn you bonus XP and go towards unlocking additional items.
Trolls are one of the hardest enemies to battle in Hogwarts Legacy, but stunning them with their own weapon by flipping a Troll's club into its face is a great way to turn the tide of battle.
This also happens to be a Duelling Feat, which is a great way to earn bonus XP and contribute to each particular challenge in hand. Completing a certain number of Duelling Feats in combat will net you some progress in the challenge alongside some unique rewards in the game.

All you need to do to flip a Troll's club into its face in Hogwarts Legacy is to use the Flipendo spell at the right time. This Duelling Feat can initially be challenging, but it will be far easier when you know what to look out for.
Trolls perform a variety of different attacks, but the one to look out for is where it slams its club into the ground.
- Instead of casting Protego, dodge instead so the attack follows through
- The troll's club will stay in place very briefly
- Quickly cast Flipendo and the Troll's club will flip right into its face
- Congratulations, you're officially a Troll club-flipper!
This is just one of many Duelling Feats that may randomly pop up in the bottom right corner of the screen as you take part in combat. Completing Duelling Feats earns you progression in the Duelling Feat challenge which will then give you unique rewards.
To learn Flipendo, you need to complete Professor Garlick's Assignment 2, which will ask you to grow and harvest Fluxweed and use all three combat plants in a fight at once.
- Fluxweed seeds can be bought from the Magic Neep on the outskirts of Hogsmeade
- Once you have the seeds, you will then need a large pot to grow them in
- The recipe to conjure large pots can be bought from Tomes and Scrolls in Hogsmeade
- You will then be able to conjure it in the Room of Requirement and set your Fluxweed to grow
To complete the second part of the assignment, you need to use all three combat plants during a fight. These are:
- Venomous Tentacular
- Chinese Chomping Cabbage
- Mandrake
You can buy the seeds for all plants at Dogweed and Deathcap at Hogsmeade (shown as a mushroom icon on the map). Recipes for the different plant pot sizes can be bought at Tomes and Scrolls.
Once you have all three plants, whilst in combat, you can open the potion and plant wheel by pressing either LB (Xbox), L1 (PlayStation), or Tab (PC). Highlight which one you wish to use then let go of the trigger and press the button again to throw the plant into combat.
With that, you are equipped with all the knowledge you need on how to flip a Troll's club into its face in Hogwarts Legacy.
