Will There Be A Day One Patch For Hogwarts Legacy?
The Hogwarts Legacy release has been somewhat convoluted, with some players gaining access to the game on February 7 and others having to wait until February 10.
Players who pre-ordered the most expensive version of the game have received access to it three days early as a pre-order incentive whilst others who have bought the standard edition of the game must wait for the official launch date.
The deluxe edition is available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC with a later release date in the year for last-gen consoles.
This means players have already had the chance to explore the starting regions of Hogwarts and have stumbled upon a fair share of bugs and issues – particularly those playing on PC who report severe performance issues and framerate dips.
Hogwarts Legacy Day One Early Patch Notes
Thankfully, Warner Bros have confirmed that there will be a day one patch for Hogwarts Legacy, which aims to fix the following issues:
- Fixes to game crashing issues.
- Address the stuttering and lag issues.
- Add gameplay adjustments and optimizations.
- Add general stability fixes.
- Add performance improvements.
- Other minor fixes.
The day one patch is also expected to improve ray-tracing on PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. A smaller patch was deployed on February 9th, but we're still expecting another to drop on the game's full release date.
If you're jumping into Hogwarts Legacy on the release day of February 10, the patch should be automatically applied, but if you've played during early access you'll have to exit and check for the update by reopening the game.
