Starfield has some pretty cool Spacesuits, but some players will want to hide their Spacesuits or Helmets to take a look at their character. Thankfully, there's a way to do it in the game - but it's not immediately clear how to do it.
Both your Spacesuits and your Helmets have a setting that allows you to walk around without them on, but there's a catch. You won't be able to take them off at will - you need them to survive out in the wilds on most planets. Keep reading to find out how you can take off Spacesuits and Helmets in Starfield.
How to hide Spacesuits in Starfield
To hide your Spacesuit in Starfield, head to your inventory and go to the Spacesuits section. You should have an option at the bottom of the screen that says "Hide Spacesuit in settlements". Press the button or key the game prompts you to press, and you should no longer be wearing your Spacesuit in any settlements in the game.
Examples of settlements include New Atlantis and Akila City, but there are lots of smaller settlements too. Basically, a settlement is anywhere that has some kind of civilisation where people are walking around in regular clothes.
There's no way to remove your Spacesuit in other areas in Starfield. You need it to survive, so you'll be stuck wearing it outside of settlements. Occasionally you might get a glitch where you can roam around a planet without your suit showing, but this is unintended.

How to hide Helmets in Starfield
Hiding Helmets in Starfield is just like hiding Spacesuits. To hide your Helmet, head to your inventory and go to Helmets.
There will be an option that says "Hide Helmet in breathable areas". This will hide your Helmet whenever you're in an area with breathable air.
Some areas might allow you to hide your Helmet but not your Spacesuit. For example, when you're on your ship you can take off your Helmet but not your Spacesuit.
