Helldivers 2 is the latest game to be taking the world by storm, consistently growing in popularity despite a constant flurry of server issues since release. It’s a testament to the quality of the game, as you can read in our review, that it just doesn’t have the capacity for how many people are trying to play it.Â
Below I've outlined the player count for both of the platforms the game has been released on so far - and its popularity on PC is nothing short of remarkable.Â
How many people are playing Helldivers 2?Â
Thanks to SteamDB, it's much easier to get an accurate reading of how many people are playing at the moment on PC, as according to the site, its all-time peak sits at 411,359 as of February 19, following on from a previous peak of 409,367 (shown in the image below).
As expected, that peak ebbs and flows, with SteamDB's 'players right now' count sitting at between 164,000 and 270,000 depending on two different points I checked the site on February 19 and 20.
Taking into account just how difficult it can be to get onto the game servers because of these issues, this is nothing to scoff at, and I'd only expect that number to rise for the time being.
Currently, there's no data for how many people are playing Helldivers 2 on PS5, but I'll make sure to keep this page updated if any data or estimations pop up in the future.
I spent ages over the weekend trying to jump on and spread democracy, and I know I’m not the only one who struggled. Even without knowing the PS5 player count, it’s hard not to consider Helldivers 2 a huge success, and hopefully, once the servers are more stable, it'll be much easier to jump into a game. Â
