Helldivers 2 players have some new gear to play with thanks to the addition of the LAS-99 Quasar Cannon and the MG-206 Heavy Machine Gun in the recent update. Both are support weapons that should provide new ways for divers to take on the hordes of bugs and bots in the galaxy.

If you need to know exactly how you can begin using them in your loadout, here's how to unlock the weapons in the game.

How to get the LAS-99 Quasar Cannon & HMG

The brand-new Quasar Cannon and Heavy Machine Gun support weapons can be purchased from the Stratagems screen on your ship. To access this:

  • Head to the 'Ship Management' terminal under the large screen
  • Select the 'Stratagems' tab
  • Purchase the support weapons you want

The Quasar Cannon is part of the Engineering Bay and costs 7500 Requisition. You'll also need to be at least Level 18 to purchase it.

Meanwhile, the HMG is part of the Patriotic Administration Centre, costing 6000 Requisition. I'm not entirely sure what level you need to be to unlock this one, but players are reporting that it's around Level 10.

Once you've purchased one or both of these Stratagems, they're yours forever and can be equipped to your character in the Loadout screen just before you dive into a mission.

I recommend only taking one of these onto a mission to test them out, as you'll need spaces for other Stratagems like airstrikes.

Check out our Helldivers 2 homepage for more guides. We've also covered how to farm Samples, the best Stratagems, how to heal teammates, and how to get Super Credits for free.
