Learning how to farm Medals in Helldivers 2 is vital if you want to acquire more weapons and cosmetic items quickly, as it's the main free currency you'll acquire while playing.
Fastest way to get Medals
There are three primary ways to get Medals in Helldivers 2: completing missions, finishing Orders, and searching points of interest.
Orders
One of the most lucrative methods of gathering Medals to spend is completing your Personal Order each day, which acts like a daily challenge common in most live service games.
Focusing on these will get you a big chunk each day, so I recommend prioritising your challenges when playing.
Operations
Helldivers 2 features Operations, which are collections of individual missions. Each mission will reward you with Medals anyway, but competing missions that belong to the same set will get you even more.
There are two minds on how you can approach this:
- Choosing higher difficulty Operations, so you can complete more missions and get bigger Medal bonuses for each subsequent mission
- Choosing the quicker Operations with smaller rewards, so you can farm them for consistent Medal rewards
It's down to personal preference really, but we recommend trying both to see which one keeps you engaged.
Points of interest
Finally, you can find Medals at some of the points of interest littered around the map in missions. These are displayed by a diamond icon, and are typically out of the way of the main objectives you'll need to complete.
These aren't consistent ways of getting Medals, as they also randomly provide Super Credits and weapons. The rewards are also smaller than the alternative methods highlighted above, so it's not worth farming them this way.
