The Anti-Material Rifle is one of the many Stratagems in Helldivers 2 that players can use on missions to take out enemies. Even though it is a sniper rifle, the damage doesn't appear to be that great and against armoured enemies, it often fails. However, that's because most players aren't using it properly.
So, keep reading our guide as we explain the actual use of the Anti-Material Rifle in the game and how you can get it in Helldivers 2.
What is an Anti-Material Rifle used for?
The Anti Material Rifle is a high calibre sniper that you can use to take out the small bugs from a distance. The range on this weapon allows you to provide cover fire to your team and even complete objectives like destroying Eggs, Bugs or Robots.
While it is more effective on smaller enemies, you can also use it to hit weak points of armoured enemies from a distance to immobilize them.
If you combine the Anti Material Rifle with a Jetpack and proper communication with your team using voice chat, you can improve the use case of the weapon in Helldivers 2.
How to get Anti-Material Rifle
In Helldivers 2, you can get the Anti Material Rifle through the Stratagem Drop, granted you have reached Level 2 and have unlocked it through the Stratagem menu using 5,000 Renown.
Once you have the Anti Material Rifle unlocked, you can start a mission and equip the Stratagem in the loadout menu. After that, when you are in a match, open the Stratagem menu and press the sequence of buttons required for calling in an Anti Material Rifle drop.
You can also get the Anti-Material Rifle by destroying crashed Helldivers Hellpods, from stashes found in some of the maps and other POIs. However, the spawn rate depends on RNG.
The last method to obtain the Anti-Material Rifle is by eliminating a player who already has it. However, this is not recommended - why take out your partner when you can ask them to call in a drop for you? We prefer to play fair.
