The current season of Fortnite still has a bit of time left, but many will already be wondering when Chapter 5: Season 1 ends - and when Season 2 begins.

It’s not that I'm wishing away the current season, as the LEGO and Rocket Racing modes have been a welcome inclusion and Lady Gaga has only just arrived. I just want to know how long I have left to complete the Battle Pass and how many weeks of challenges remain.

For that reason, I've outlined below how long this season will last in the game and when we can expect the next one to go live.

When does Chapter 5: Season 1 of Fortnite end?

After the shorter Fortnite OG season, the game is returning to a three-month-long season, meaning Chapter 5: Season 1 should come to an end on March 8, 2024. This is also when the Battle Pass expires.

However, it's worth mentioning that seasonal updates can always be delayed. If this does happen, I'll update this page, just in case Chapter 5: Season 2 needs a little longer in the oven.

When do we think Chapter 5: Season 2 will launch?

Season 2 of Chapter 5 will likely begin on March 9, 2024, which is the day after the current season ends.

This is the usual model Fortnite sticks to, having downtime on a Friday evening and then releasing the new season ready for the weekend.

Chapter 5: Season 2 leaks and teasers

It's now close enough to the next season that leaks and teasers are starting to emerge, and there is a strong indicator the next season will be inspired by Greek mythology and is codenamed Odyssey - which is rather fitting.

Outside of the theme, not much else is known, but I'm hoping we get some gods as skins and statues all over the map. Hopefully, God of War's Kratos skin might even return to the store after a prolonged absence.
