What Is FIFA 23 Anti Cheat?
The FIFA 23 anti cheat system is going to take form in EA AntiCheat (or EAAC for short), which is a new 'lightweight kernel-mode anti cheat and anti-tamper solution' directly developed and implemented by EA themselves.
This means that, ideally, the anti cheat system has been designed to specifically work for EA games like FIFA, making it hopefully far more effective than any third-party general program.

Furthermore, the introduction of a kernel-level anti cheat should make detecting and dealing with cheats far more effective, as many of the external files and software used to manipulate the game files exist at the kernel-level, which was undetectable by the previous anti cheat system.
This should help to deal with both game-affecting cheats like auto-green timed shots, and market manipulations like coin duplicators and transfer bots, making the PC FIFA experience far more enjoyable for the average player.
The introduction of this anti-cheat was essential for this year due to the new FIFA 23 crossplay features, which allowed PC players to play against console users for the first time ever, making game integrity more vital than before. Unfortunately, we still won't see any changes to a cross-market system even with this anti-cheat, but hopefully, it is something we will see in future titles as the anti cheat system grows stronger and more reliable.

How Does FIFA 23 Anti Cheat Work?
The FIFA 23 anti cheat system works by installing the kernel-level program and launching it whenever you start up the game. This program then detects any mysterious external files or software that could be/is tampering with the game files and flags it to the game.
This does mean that you will need EAAC installed to play FIFA 23 in any form, as even the single-player modes need to be protected by the anti-cheat, but thankfully you will not need a consistent internet connection for any game modes that previously didn't require it.
So, that's everything you need to know about the FIFA 23 anti cheat system, giving you an overview of what it is and how it is going to work. For more details on the FIFA 23 Ultimate Team game mode if you're excited for that, make sure to have a read of our full guide.
