FF7 Rebirth's level cap is way bigger than Final Fantasy 7 Remake
Here's the FF7 Rebirth level cap, details on how it's different to Final Fantasy 7 Remake, and how easy it is to reach this max level in the new game.
If you're looking to hit the level cap in FF7 Rebirth, you're going to have to put in a bit more time grinding to the max level compared to Final Fantasy 7 Remake.
Although the larger scope of the game compared to that of Remake means that a higher cap isn't a massive surprise, you'll still have a grind cut out for you.
What is the FF7 Rebirth level cap?
FF7 Rebirth's level cap is 70, first confirmed in the game's trophies list - specifically for the 'Grind it Out' trophy. This is 20 levels higher than Final Fantasy 7 Remake's max level of 50. Although you do start Rebirth at level 15 instead of 1, getting to the cap will still take some time.
After playing through Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth for his review, my colleague Harry Boulton completed the story at about level 50, which also included a handful of side missions and activities along the way.
To hit level 70 though, you'll need to essentially tick off almost every bit of side content throughout the game.
If you've already rolled credits, however, you can still further boost your level by replaying chapters from the Chapter Selection menu - which you unlock after beating the game - to replay parts of the game with your level, equipment, and material carried over.
Beating FF7 Rebirth also unlocks Hard Mode, the most challenging of its difficulty levels that you can only play from the Chapter Selection menu. Replaying chapters in Normal or Hard Mode is essential, as the Easy difficulty will earn you less EXP and make the grind far longer.
