Many players are looking to find out if there is an Exoprimal single-player mode, as the marketing for the game up to release has mostly showcased it as a cooperative shooter.

Exoprimal is Capcom's newest IP, focusing on the classic conflict of mechs vs hordes of dinosaurs and allowing you to team up with other players in the process. With various PvE and PvP modes available in the game, it's worth asking if there is a single-player mode too for those who don't want to take part in multiplayer.

So, check out whether there is a way to play Exoprimal single-player.

Exoprimal is an online-only experience and has no single-player mode to speak of, meaning you can only play it cooperatively with friends or through matchmaking with randoms.

There is still a campaign you can follow along with by doing missions in the Dinosaur Survival mode, but as we said previously, it can only be enjoyed online with other players.

There's currently no word from Capcom whether it will incorporate a solely single-player mode into the game, or make it so PvE modes can be played solo.

It's also worth mentioning you can't substitute other players for AI teammates, but this could potentially be an option to make single-player viable without affecting the game's cooperative-focused balance.

What are the playable modes in Exoprimal?

Currently, Exoprimal has six different game modes that are available:

  • Data Key Security - PvP mode where you capture a key from the opposite team and protect your own.
  • Dinosaur Cull - Raid-like PvE mode where you hunt down a specific dinosaur.
  • Dinosaur Survival - A mix of PvP and PvE that uncovers the game's story upon mission completion.
  • Energy Taker - PvP mode where you compete to gather the most resources.
  • Omega Charge - PvE mode where you protect and charge up a massive weapon to defeat similarly massive dinosaurs.
  • VTOL Defense - A PvE horde mode where you make a last stand against an army of 'saurs.

That's our explainer of whether there is an Exoprimal single-player mode, along with the different modes available in the game.
