Introduced in the fourth Pokemon generation via Diamond and Pearl, Gallade is among the most interesting evolutions, being an alternative evolution for Kirlia away from Gardevoir. However, for series newcomers or those who haven't played a Pokemon game in a while, the way to evolve Kirlia can be a mystery.

So, let's get into how to evolve Kirlia into Gallade in the game.

How to evolve Kirlia into Gallade

The way to evolve Kirlia into Gallade is by giving a male Kirlia a Dawn Stone. Thankfully, this is the same method needed to evolve Kirlia in the past. It's quite straightforward compared to other evolution methods needed for certain Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet - like how to evolve Bisharp into Kingambit

Alternatively, wild Gallade can be found in later areas of the game; Alfornada Cavern, Dalizapa Passage, Glaseado Mountain, and North Province Area One; but if want one in your team early on, or are trying to raise a Gallade for competitive PvP battles, evolution via Dawn Stone is the way to go.

In terms of where to get the Dawn Stone, this can also be found in various locations out in the wild - meaning you'll almost definitely pick one up in your travels across the game eventually.

If you want a specific location, the most straightforward, but depending on luck, is one of the auctions in Port Marinada. However, the auctions available each day are entirely random, so whether the Dawn Stone will be available is all by chance.

In Pokeball item drops, the Dawn Stone can also be found in the quarry based in the north of Levincia. Alternatively, one can be found in a ruin northwest of Medali.

The final way to get a Dawn Stone is via Pokedex rewards. If you've caught at least 270 Pokemon, just press the X button for the rewards section in the Pokedex, and the Dawn Stone will be unlocked automatically.
