The Escape From Tarkov Energy Crisis quest from Mechanic is one of the many marker type tasks in the game, which can easily leave you walking around like a headless chicken if you don't know where you're going. Escape From Tarkov is notorious for not giving players too much information when it comes to quest descriptions, so don't feel too disheartened if you are clueless without help. So, if you're looking for the information you need to complete the Escape From Tarkov Energy Crisis quest, then look no further than our guide below for all the locations.
Escape From Tarkov Energy Crisis Quest: Details
If you've completed the Escape From Tarkov BP Depot quest (which I would hope that you have if you're doing this!) then you'll be familiar with the general premise of the Escape From Tarkov Energy Crisis task from Mechanic.
It requires you to find four tanker trucks on the Lighthouse map, and place a MS2000 Marker on each of them, protecting it for a period of time after you've placed it. The tricky part of this quest, however, is where the tankers are located. You'll find all four tanks around the water treatment area - similar to the Escape From Tarkov Corporate Secrets quest - which is notoriously filled with USEC rogues that will expertly take you down, especially if you happen to have chosen to be a BEAR. In addition, this area is also a hot spot for other PMCs, as the rogues carry high value gear and give a lot of EXP for killing, so you're going to need to be extra careful when placing your markers.
As a reward for bravely completing this quest, you will be able to get your hands on the following:
- 75,000 Roubles
- 13,000 EXP
- Unlocks the barter for FN SCAR-L 5.56x45 assault rifle (FDE) (Contract Wars) at Mechanic LL2 for five GP coins
- Increases your Mechanic rep by 0.02
And if those rewards weren't enough, this quest is a required step in your path towards the Kappa container, so you're definitely going to want to complete it sooner rather than later.
How To Complete The Escape From Tarkov Energy Crisis Quest
The difficult part of completing the Escape From Tarkov Energy Crisis quest comes in both finding the tankers in the first place, and avoiding the danger that surrounds them. While we cannot explicitly help you with avoiding the danger, we can thankfully tell you exactly where the tankers are, so you spend far less time wandering around aimlessly, asking to get shot.
Thankfully, the tankers are all relatively close to each other, so you won't have to walk too far if you manage to get to the first one. Furthermore, it is an easy extract out, as you can either use the Armoured Train extract, or slip out of the Northern Checkpoint, which are both only moments away from the tankers.
You're going to want to head to the Water Treatment Plant on the northern side of the Lighthouse map to find all of the tankers, and they are in the following locations:
- Outside the south entrance of the Water Treatment Plant
- On the eastern side of the Plant
- In the centre of the Train Yard
- At the north-east edge of the Train Yard
For the first tanker, you'll want to head to the south-west entrance of the Water Treatment plant, which can be accessed easily by following the main road that runs parallel to the sea. It is quite hard to miss, but that also means that you'll be relatively exposed from all angles, so you'll need to watch out and not stay still for too long to avoid making yourself an easy target.
For the second tanker, you'll want to head inside the Plant and go north-east towards the third USEC building. The tanker is sat on the eastern road inside the Plant, and just to the right of all of the main circular mechanisms.
You do have a bit more cover with this one, but you will need to be very careful, and on high alert when moving through the Plant, as there will be USEC rogues dotted everywhere. The roofs of the three building are going to be your biggest danger spots, to make sure to check them and either avoid their sightlines, or take out the enemies on top.
To find the third and fourth tankers, you'll want to head north, beyond the Water Treatment Plant, and enter the Train Yard where the armoured train arrives. If you enter through the easternmost entrance, you should be able to see the third tanker right in front of you, just to the right of an abandoned train.
Finally, for the fourth tanker, keep moving north just beyond the third, and you should soon see a lowered section with several tankers next to each other. You should be able to place your marker on any of the ones there, and then you'll be done.
All that is left is to extract now, and that should be relatively easy as you can either take the train when that arrives if you're near the end of the raid, or just head to the Northern Checkpoint extract, which is just around the corner if you follow the main road to its north most conclusion.
As with any of the marker-based quests, it's always a good idea to take your MS2000 markers in either your secure container, or one of the new special slots which you can learn all about in our Escape From Tarkov compass not working guide. This saves you having to constantly rebuy them from Prapor if you keep dying, which in this location is a rather high probability.
So, that's how to complete the Escape From Tarkov Energy Crisis quest from Mechanic, giving you all the information you'll need to mark all four tankers on Lighthouse.
