Perfume Bottles and their respective Ash of Wars have become the meta option in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree, and I've got all of their locations right here to save you time.

Perfume Bottle locations

Chilling Perfume Bottle

The Chilling Perfume Bottle is found in the Lamenter's Gaol. This dungeon is accessed by heading northwest from the Charo's Hidden Grave Site of Grace.

Once inside, you'll want to progress far enough to unlock the door near the start and head down the ladder. Once down the ladder, head into the first room on the right.

Once inside that room, the Chilling Perfume Bottle is found via an item drop on one of the dead bodies.

Deadly Poison Perfume Bottle

You can purchase the Deadly Poison Perfume Bottle from Thiollier before he moves, or once you get Moore's Bell Bearing in Enir-Ilim - both for 6,000 Runes.

Finding Thiollier is thankfully super easy, as all you need to do is head to the Pillar Path Cross Site of Grace in Gravesite Plain. This can be reached by heading south of Castle Ensis and taking the path that diverges to the east.

Alternatively, you can head up to the Pillar Path Waypoint Site of Grace, then head back up north and hug the cliff edge to the right, dropping down towards the Miquella Cross once it's safe.

Firespark Perfume Bottle

You'll find the Firespark Perfume Bottle in the soldier camp just before you enter Castle Ensis.

On the eastern side of the camp you'll find a couple of Perfumer enemies, and by them is a chest. Inside is where you'll find the Firespark Perfume Bottle.

Frenzyflame Perfume Bottle

To obtain the Frenzyflame Perfume Bottle, you'll need to first make your way to the Abyssal Woods. This is a lengthy process, but I've covered the journey in its entirety on our areas walkthrough:

Once you're in the Abyss though, head all the way to the eastern edge to reach the Abandoned Church. While you'll find two Scadutree Fragments underneath the Statue of Marika, you can head to the left and pick up the Frenzyflame Perfume Bottle from a dead body.

Lightning Perfume Bottle

The Lightning Perfume Bottle has proven to be the most popular of the bunch, and you can find this to the north of the Cerulean Coast. The best way to get here is to head to the Cerulean Coast Site of Grace, and then head northwest into the water.

You'll find the weapon on a dead body in the middle of the lake. Be careful though as there are a bunch of giant golden sheep in the surrounding area, and they can be quite dangerous if they barrel into you.

Perfume Ash of War locations

Rolling Sparks

You'll find the Rolling Sparks Ash of War to the east of the soldier camp before the Shadow Keep. Head up the small hill to the east and there should be a couple of Perfumers there for you to fight.

Once you've defeated them, look up towards the east, and you should be able to see one of the silver scarabs flying in the sky. While you can use any throwable item to whittle down their health, I found that projectile-based weapon skills or spells worked best to defeat them in one swoop.

Make sure to stay clear of the area when they land after death too, as they'll create a small explosion. Once they've exploded though you'll get the highly-desired Rolling Sparks Ash of War.

While this can be applied to any of the Perfume Bottles, it's best applied to the Lightning Perfume Bottle. On its own this is one of the strongest weapons in the game right now - but with the right skills and equipment, you'll be able to tear through pretty much anything in seconds.

Wall of Sparks

You can find the Wall of Sparks Ash of War on a dead body overhanging a railing just before the Pot infirmary in the Shadow Keep.

You'll find this on the route from the Shadow Keep to the Ancient Ruins of Rauh, where you take the lift to the left of the Storehouse, First Floor Site of Grace.

This is best used with the Frenzyflame Perfume Bottle, as it's perfect for dealing with large groups of enemies and can also throw out high splash damage to bosses.

Best Perfume Bottle build

As first discovered by Elden Ring content creator SYROBE, the best Perfume Bottle build - and arguably the best build in the entire game right now - revolves around the Lightning Perfume Bottle and Rolling Sparks Ash of War. Here's the build in its entirety:

Build Part
Item
Weapon Lightning Perfume Bottle +25 (with Rolling Sparks Ash of War)
Recommended Stats
  • 60 Vigor
  • 15+ Mind
  • 25+ Endurance
  • 50+ Dexterity
  • 50+ Faith
Scadutree Blessing Level 20
Talismans
  • Aged One's Exultation
  • Shard of Alexander
  • Lightning Scorpion Charm
  • Perfumer's Talisman
Armour
  • Black Dumpling Helm
  • Rakshasa Armour
  • Rakshasa Gauntlets
  • Rakshasa Greaves
Spells
  • Howl of Shabriri
  • Golden Vow
Crystal Tears
  • Bloodsucking Cracked Tear
  • Lightning-Shrouded Cracked Tear

Successfully executing the build above gives you the potential to drop pretty much any boss in only a handful of hits - including the devastating final boss. Key to the build is the Howl of Shabriri spell, which will build up the Madness status effect and trigger the damage boosts given by Aged One's Exultation and Black Dumpling.

You'll also want to use Golden Vow to boost your damage and damage negation by 15% and 10% respectively. You'll want to take at least a couple of FP Flasks to make sure that you have enough for your Ash of War attacks - but you won't need to take too many as bosses will drop in only a few attacks!

You'll also want to ensure that your Wonderous Physick is fully optimised. The Lightning Cracked Tear is essential for the 20% Lightning Attack buff, but you can play around a bit with the Bloodsucking Cracked Tear if the HP drain is proving a bit too much - although the 20% attack boost is certainly tough to turn down.

For alternatives, I'd recommend the Opaline Hardtear, Spiked Cracked Tear, Cerulean Hidden Tear, or Opaline Bubbletear, depending on the enemy that you're going up against.

You don't even need to go all the way with this build though, as I've found that it's incredibly strong even with the right stats and the the Ash of War equipped. You'll tear through most standard enemies, and make most of the bosses a lot easier too. If you want to tear through the DLC either for speedruns or for vengeance then the full build is definitely what you should consider.
