While Moore doesn't have the most expansive NPC quest in Elden Ring's Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, there are still choices to be made in his story. Follow this complete walkthrough to know everything about Moore's questline!

Where to find Moore

Moore is found at the Main Gate Cross Site of Grace, which is located just before the entrance to Belurat, Tower Settlement.

This is his only location in the DLC, so you won't have to go hunting in order to reach the end of his quest line.

This is also where you can find Ansbach, who also has an extensive questline that I'd recommend progressing. You can read a full walkthrough of this quest on our dedicated page:

Meeting Moore & Black Syrup

Although it's not a recommended part of Moore's quest, you'll want to head over to the Main Gate Cross Site of Grace and talk to Moore to learn a little bit about his character. He doesn't have much dialogue to exhaust, but make sure you've heard everything that he has to say.

If you've already met Thiollier then Moore will give you the Black Syrup item, asking you to hand it over to his masked friend. If you find Moore first though, all you need to do is head back and speak to him once you've met Thiollier and he'll hand it over then.

This is exclusively part of Thiollier's questline, but that's one that I think is essential to complete. You can read our full walkthrough to ensure you don't miss a step:

Breaking the charm

The next (and potentially final) step of Moore's questline requires you to reach the stage at which Miquella's Great Rune is discarded.

This occurs when you approach the Shadow Keep in Scadu Altus, and is signalled once a shattering sound plays and a message appears stating "Somewhere a Great Rune has broken, and so too a powerful charm."

After this, you'll want to speak to all of Miquella's Followers - but when you head back to Moore specifically he'll be in a crisis of faith and will seek a resolution from you.

He'll present you with three dialogue options, each of which gives a different outcome:

  • "Put it behind you"
  • "Remain sad forever"
  • "I don't know"

Put it behind you

While appearing initially as the 'good' option, this does eventually spell bad news for you. This, like all three options, ends Moore's quest, but this time he's thankfully in a happy state having left his confusion behind.

This will eventually lead to him being involved in a later boss fight though, so you might want to steer clear of this to make things easier down the line!

Remain sad forever

Telling Moore to remain sad forever is certainly one of the cruellest things that you can do in the world of Elden Ring, but it's definitely the wisest option from a difficulty perspective.

With this, he will move to the north of the Church of the Crusade in Scadu Altus - although the quest doesn't progress any further.

I don't know

This last option is the 'stalling' choice of the three, allowing you to return at a later point and decide between the first two. This is perhaps the most morally sound of the lot though, as it has the benefits of telling Moore to remain sad forever - but without any of the misery.

Invasion

You can also trigger an invasion from Moore if you attack any of the docile Pests found around the Shadow Realm. These give you Forager's Brood Cookbooks if you interact with them, and any hostility will break your relationship with Moore.

You will get his armour, greatshield, and bell bearing early when doing this though - so definitely something to consider.

Fight with Needle Knight Leda

If you told Moore to 'put it behind you' he will feature as an adversary in the fight against Needle Knight Leda in Enir-Ilim. He is quite the challenging foe and has an attack that can inflict Scarlet Rot in a single hit, so it's definitely one to consider avoiding at all costs.
