It's nearly been a full year since Elden Ring dropped and shook the gaming world, but fans are still wondering about the possibility of Elden Ring DLC and a return to the Lands Between. Elden Ring has received consistent support since its release, and even got a free update that added the PvP Colosseums for players to duke it out in. However, what players really want is a new single-player experience with more bosses and places to explore, so check out whether Elden Ring DLC is going to happen.

Elden Ring DLC: Is There Any DLC Coming?

FromSoftware have not officially announced any Elden Ring DLC yet, but there are already rumours of what might come next, and with the behemoth success that the game is currently seeing, it seems like a no-brainer. Most of the previous Soulsborne titles have received paid DLCs, and even free content after launch, such as PvP arenas, boss rush modes, and new weapons. Elden Ring has already received its free PvP arenas in the form of the Colosseum update that launched in early December 2022, but fans are still expecting more.

Firstly, after patch 1.07, some players datamined the Elden Ring files and found a lot of references to a future DLC. You can see the full breakdown on r/GamingLeaksAndRumours above, but in short it referenced a new legacy dungeon, 30 boss fights, NPC entries, weapons, and much more. Obviously, this isn't necessarily concrete proof and anything shown in the datamine is subject to change, but it does provide good evidence that FromSoftware is working on something.

The next big hint towards a future expansion came at The Game Awards in 2022. After Elden Ring won GOTY, Hidetaka Miyazaki gave a speech, stating that they are working on "even more interesting" things, and that "we still have several more things we want to do, so getting this GOTY award really, really encourages us".

Every title apart from Demon Soul's and Sekiro have received paid expansions which have added new explorable areas, bosses, quests, and lore to the game. FromSoftware could conceivably add new locations around the existing open world, or let players explore other continents, as some of them can be seen when standing at the edges of the map.

It's also unknown if Elden Ring lore collaborator George R.R. Martin would be involved in any post-launch content, but there could be a hidden vault full of unused bits and pieces for FromSoftware to take advantage of.

All in all, it does seem there's a good chance that Elden Ring gets some significant DLC and it will likely be this year if it does happen.

We'll update this article as more information is revealed about the existence of Elden Ring DLCs or content updates, so don't forget to check back regularly.
