Tactics have had a major revamp in EA FC 25, and the best ones will ensure that you stay firmly within the meta. Having the right tactics can be the difference between winning and losing, and thankfully I've found all of the top options for you - complete with codes so you can add them to your team with ease.
Best tactics for Ultimate Team
Here are all of the best tactics I've found and tested so far in EA FC 25. Of course, you need to have the right players to fit into these tactics - especially those that suit the specific Player Roles, but using any one in particular will definitely help you win more games.
4-2-3-1 Rotations
TACTICS CODE: rHD9Zi731n7
This is actually my own personal creation and my current tactics that I'm using in Division Rivals ahead of Weekend League.
When out of possession you'll have an incredibly strong and compact 4-2-3-1 structure that is fantastic at winning the ball back and stopping opposition attacks, whereas its in-possession structure is more akin to a 3-5-2 or 3-4-1-2 shape.
This is all due to the rotations on the left and right sides, as the left side sees the LB push up the touchline and the LM move inside towards the box, and the right side has the RB drop inside as a proto-CB and the RM stay wide and low as a creator.
Key to this tactic are the following attributes for specific positions:
- RB: Defending, Physical, Height
- LCB: Pace
- LB: Pace, Passing
- RM: Pace, Passing, Defending
- LM: Pace, Shooting
- ST: Pace, Shooting, Physical
I'm using someone like Pavard as the RB as he's got the dual CB/RB positions, so anyone like him would be perfect too. You'll want to pay close attention to any Strikers that have the Poacher+ or Poacher++ Player Roles too, as they will excel in this system.
FUTWIZ 4-4-2
TACTICS CODE: p4CdbTWxzF9
This next tactic has been created by FUTWIZ pro player Mark11, and is perfect for beginners and high-level players alike.
Its strength lies in its flat nature, as the classic 4-4-2 formation creates three lines of both defensive and attack that move up and down as one. In particular, this tactic is designed to be incredibly aggressive in its nature too, with a high defensive line that creates quick attacking transitions.
You'll need to be extra careful when defending though, as it can be easy for the tight structure to fall apart if you pull your players out of position. If you play it right though you can have up to six players in attack, which can easily overwhelm even the strongest defence.
Make sure to look out for players with specific attributes in these roles:
- GK: Speed, Reactions
- LCB: Passing
- RM/LM: Pace, Shooting
- CMs: Everything!
- LST: Passing, Shooting
- RST: Pace, Shooting
In general, you'll want high Pace and Stamina numbers across the field though, as this team will be doing a lot of running. Try and have a couple of strong subs too, as you'll really benefit from the fresh legs.
Patty's 4-3-3
TACTICS CODE: PcnuqXgbZRz
If you're a fan of width in your tactics - which I definitely am - then you'll love this one created by Patty.
It takes the shape of the holding 4-3-3 formation without the ball, giving you defensive stability in three lines, and then transitions into an attacking 3-4-3 when in possession.
This shift creates incredibly dangerous transitions, allowing you to attack quickly up the pitch when regaining possession, or create overloads with greater numbers in attack.
As a tactic full of intensity, securing the right attributes in key positions is essential:
- CBs: Pace, Physical
- CDM: Pace, Passing, Defending, Physical
- LB/RB: Pace, Passing
- LW/RW: Pace, Shooting, Passing
Much like the FUTWIZ 4-4-2 it's essential that you have subs ready to come on, especially for the fullbacks. As they'll be running constantly you'll want to refresh the side so there's no drop in intensity.
Yagi's 4-3-2-1
TACTICS CODE: @#YzuTUFJ7T
Finishing off the list is one from professional player Yagi, who takes the flat 4-5-1 and turns it into something very reminiscent of the 4-3-2-1.
This was one of my favourites to use as your out-of-possession shape absolutely dominates the middle of the park, and the more narrow front three in possession create a lot of danger inside the box.
What I also like about this tactic is how well it scales to lower-quality sides. You'll obviously do better with players like Mbappé, Hansen, and Van Dijk in your squad, but it's one that isn't overly reliant on the best players in the game.
You'll still want to make sure that certain positions have strong specific attribute values though:
- RB/LB: Defending, Physical
- LCM: Passing, Dribbling
- RM: Pace, Passing, Dribbling
- LM: Pace, Shooting
- ST: Pace, Shooting, Passing, Dribbling
As mentioned though, just use the players that you've got and you'll still do great, as the roles themselves are largely unreliant on specific types of players.
